Peachtree Center Mall

The design concept was to create a new experience as you entered Peachtree Center, either via the multitude of escalators and side entrances  surrounding the entire city-block site, or as you meander through the central public plaza. This journey is marked by various lighting installations, water features and tranquil green space. Once you arrive, the lower-level boasts a clean, fresh palette with slices of light originating from the plaza above creating a visual connection between the two levels. The plaza is dotted with reconfigured skylights with cutting-edge lighting installations flanked by larger-scale light boxes and LED screens creating a means of wayfinding through illumination. The materials for the upper level are cool in color to contrast with the existing warmth of the surrounding office towers. These hues continue throughout the mall below to integrate the two spaces. As well, the replacement of escalators with an elevator and monumental staircase creates a landmark that links all floors and sets the stage for a central gathering space as it puddles onto the lower level.
