Who We Are

MKDA is an influential Miami-based architecture and interior design firm impacting urban neighborhoods across South Florida, the Caribbean and beyond with compelling architecture that has lasting impacts for all stakeholders, including occupants, communities and developers.

Since its 2013 launch in the Wynwood Arts District at the start of the area’s new wave of development, MKDA has proven to be highly influential to Wynwood’s transformation, and has built an unwavering reputation with the completion of impactful commercial, retail, mixed-use and hospitality properties across Miami and the Caribbean.

The growing firm recently doubled its Wynwood architecture studio and opened a second studio in Broward County, where MKDA once again is leading a city’s new wave of development with seven architecturally-distinct projects currently under development in Fort Lauderdale.

MKDA is backed by its New York Headquarters, which was founded in 1959, providing South Florida clients with the stability of an enduring firm with a respected legacy. MKDA has an additional studio in Stamford, CT founded in 2006.

Our Unique Offerings

We are a small, powerful firm with big reach. We offer the best of both worlds.

MKDA is the only boutique architecture studio in South Florida that regularly competes with the big names in architecture on major, impactful projects, and wins. This is due in equal parts to our creativity that rises above the rest and our technical prowess. We use Revitt/BIM on all our projects, giving our studio the horsepower of a firm three times our size.

As a boutique firm that has the chops of a much larger firm, we are both capable and accountable, and we are uniquely qualified to bridge the gap between the creative and technical application of architecture and design.

The creative team under the direction of our Director of Architecture, the mastermind behind our bold architectural concepts, and the technical team under the direction of our Technical Director, a code compliance expert, make us uniquely qualified to bridge the creative-technical divide in a way that many of our competitors cannot.

We deliver on our promises.

You can count on us to deliver on our promises. Our clients are ensured the same senior-level A-team that presents during new business pitches. We don’t bait-and-switch. Our senior-heavy teams, with a high percentage of licensed architects, includes architecture and design tastemakers, technical experts, and attentive and responsive project managers that are focused on delivering the results that matter most.

This client-centric, bottom-line mindset, and our strong work ethic, originate from our New York Headquarters.
