Intermediate Interior Designer - New York

MKDA, an award-winning commercial Interior Design firm headquartered in New York City, is seeking a creative and technically strong Intermediate Interior Designer to join the New York office. A dynamic and fast-paced position, the candidate must manage a variety of assignments from multiple sources, thrive under deadlines, take initiative and self-manage to prioritize tasks.


  • Exhibits understanding of the firm’s design philosophy.
  • Project leadership on interior design, including lead of in house team, project consultants and client.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills with relation to client interaction.
  • Ability to produce complete construction drawings.
  • Coordinate with outside consultants and vendors.
  • Have a good understanding of interior finishes, materials, furniture, lighting, fixtures, and FF&E schedules and budgets.
  • Proficiency in millwork detailing and specifications and reviewing shop drawings.


  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interior Design.
  • Five (5) to ten (10) years of professional working experience in corporate interior design.
  • Highly proficient in AutoCAD, Sketch-Up and 3D Rendering.
  • CID, IIDA, ASID and LEED a plus
  • Experience with creating all project documentation, including Design Development and Construction sets, and Construction Administration
  • Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, PowerPoint and Microsoft Office
  • Basic knowledge of current building codes including ADA requirements.
  • Ability to work well with colleagues, clients, vendors and construction managers.
  • Excellent presentation skills and strong communicator with the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Possesses strong organizational and problem solving skills, prioritizes and handles multiple deadlines with grace

Project Manager - New York, NY

MKDA is a dynamic 45-person corporate interior design firm headquartered in New York City with offices in Stamford, CT and Miami, FL.  Since 1959, MKDA has specialized in the workplace environment, providing design services to corporations, commercial building owners, non-profits and government agencies. With the addition of our Miami office, we now provide design services on projects in the academic, hospitality, culture, healthcare, mixed-use and residential markets.

The New York studio of MKDA is currently seeking a motivated, technically strong and creative intermediate architect with excellent verbal and written communication skills and 3-5 years of architectural experience in corporate interiors.

Candidate will run small projects and assist the Senior Project Managers on work that includes creating construction documents; general drafting and detailing; construction administration and shop drawing review; field surveys and field reports; etc.

Candidates must have either a B.Arch or M.Arch degree and a minimum of 3 (three) years experience as well as strong organization, team building and relationship management skills. Must be proficient in AutoCAD. Revit experience a plus.
