MKDA has completed a phased, in-occupancy renovation across two floors at a prominent Midtown office building for a national financial firm.
The sizable office, which features 167 private offices, 20 conference rooms as well as open work areas and pantries, is being designed with a mix of existing traditional finishes and new modern elements to create a new aesthetic.
The majority of the design is focused on the areas with the most impact, such as the reception, a waiting area and library, a cafe and conference center. The designers are keeping the beauty of the old space true to design but with a more modern integrated feel.
In addition, MKDA is following sustainable practices whenever possible, using LED lights to help with energy compliance; wool carpet, a rapidly renewable product; and several existing workstation and private office furniture as well as raised paneling, crown moldings and wood doors.
