Square Footage:

Starting with a fresh elevator lobby and reception, both floors were completely renovated to represent the new, modern image of Tannenbaum Helpern Syracuse & Hirschtritt, LLP. The firm wanted to improve the efficiency and functionality of its space, and offer a lively, modern work environment that would attract and retain the next generation of law talent without losing sight of their rich heritage. In order to achieve this, MKDA designed the 35,000 square foot office space in a way that marries modern design elements and strategic space planning with select existing features. The team replaced the dark wood paneling and dark marble flooring in the reception area with light wood and white carrara porcelain floor tiles. Open areas and offices were designed with the same finishes to provide a consistent look. The 12th floor conference room was built to feature a full wall sliding glass door that could create a larger space for corporate events. The pantry was designed with an added burst of color in a blue glass backsplash, graphic wallcovering and a herringbone vinyl floor. The perimeter office layout was retained, while the office fronts were updated to let in more natural light and make the space feel open. To take a modern approach, and with an interest of retaining younger employees, the team opted for conference rooms or collaboration spaces in place of corner offices on both floors, and included more interior offices as well as double private offices as they plan for the future.
