MKDA designed a ground-floor showroom environment in the Landmark New York Life Building on behalf of Mikasa, a luxury brand of tableware. Despite numerous challenges—including Landmarks Commission and Building Department filings and approvals, demolition of a remnant bank vault, and working around onsite employees—MKDA completed the space in less than six months and Mikasa was able to debut its showroom to rave reviews during market week. The dramatic showroom features soaring 30-foot ceilings and was designed as an elegant backdrop for showcasing the Mikasa brand and its product lines.
