Senior Architect - STAMFORD

MKDA is award-winning commercial Interior Design firm headquartered in New York City. Our Stamford, CT Studio seeks a creative and technically savvy Senior Architect to join our CT team. The ideal candidate will be a driven critical thinker, team oriented in nature, and adaptable to change. He or she must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, and exhibit strong project-planning abilities.


  • Exhibits understanding of the firm’s design philosophy
  • Manages client relationships in collaboration with Industry and Team Leaders
  • Directs projects, guiding project teams from initial engagement through project completion
  • Serves as clients’ primary day-to-day point of contact, responding to questions and concerns in a timely, thoughtful manner
  • Ensures the quality completion of deliverables on time and on budget
  • Monitors contract compliance and execution
  • Identifies and initiates additional service agreements
  • Prepares work plans
  • Oversees and adjusts project financials, schedules, and staffing to meet design and profitability goals

  • Significant experience in the fields of architecture and interior architecture; a minimum of 10 years, preferably with licensure.
  • Proven track record in a leadership role
  • Project management expertise – with substantive experience managing budgets and schedules
  • A holistic understanding of the design process with thorough knowledge of technical design and construction drawing documentation.
  • Experience successfully directing the technical and delivery portions of multiple high-profile projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Superior time management and organizational abilities
  • Highly proficient in AutoCAD, 3D Rendering, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite. Revit and Sketch-Up a plus.
  • RA, AIA, CID and LEED a plus

Intermediate Interior Designer - Stamford

MKDA, an award-winning commercial Interior Design firm headquartered in New York City, is seeking a creative and technically strong Intermediate Interior Designer to join our Stamford Studio. A dynamic and fast-paced position, the candidate must manage a variety of assignments from multiple sources, thrive under deadlines, take initiative and self-manage to prioritize tasks.


  • Exhibits understanding of the firm’s design philosophy.
  • Project leadership on interior design, including lead of in house team, project consultants and client.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills with relation to client interaction.
  • Ability to produce complete construction drawings.
  • Coordinate with outside consultants and vendors.
  • Have a good understanding of interior finishes, materials, furniture, lighting, fixtures, and FF&E schedules and budgets.
  • Proficiency in millwork detailing and specifications and reviewing shop drawings.


  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interior Design.
  • Four (4) to seven (7) years of professional working experience in corporate interior design.
  • Highly proficient in AutoCAD, Sketch-Up and 3D Rendering.
  • CID, IIDA, ASID and LEED a plus
  • Experience with creating all project documentation, including Design Development and Construction sets, and Construction Administration
  • Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, PowerPoint and Microsoft Office
  • Basic knowledge of current building codes including ADA requirements.
  • Ability to work well with colleagues, clients, vendors and construction managers.
  • Excellent presentation skills and strong communicator with the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Possesses strong organizational and problem solving skills, prioritizes and handles multiple deadlines with grace
  • Must be a US green card holder or US citizen and currently living in NYC.
