MIAMI, FL— MKDA, a preeminent architecture and interior design studio located in the Wynwood Art District of Miami, today announced the promotion of Brett Hertzler from Senior Project Manager to Director of Architecture.
Mr. Hertzler, who joined the firm in 2014, will be responsible for upholding the architecture studio’s outstanding reputation by providing inventive conceptual and schematic design with an emphasis on superior technical quality. He will also assist in new mixed-use, hospitality, restaurant, retail and residential business development, and in the professional development of junior architects.

Since joining MKDA, Mr. Hertzler has provided conceptual and schematic design on assignments that include: One Fifth, a 4.2 million-square-foot development opportunity in Miami; Casa Mar, a reimagined Caribbean resort; and The Spanish Court Resorts, a newly branded Caribbean resort chain currently under construction.
Prior to joining MKDA, Mr. Hertzler was an owner of a successful design-build firm. Before that, he was an architect at Garcia + Ferrari / Architecture and Interior Design, where he contributed to assignments that include Atlantic Hotel, The Hilton Beach Resort, The Trump International Hotel and Tower, all on Ft. Lauderdale Beach, and the Omphoy Resort in Palm Beach.
Mr. Hertzler graduated Cum Laude with a B.Arch. from Florida Atlantic University, where he was awarded the First Place Thesis Award. He is a licensed General Contractor who currently holds certification in the State of Florida.
