Amanda Hertzler, NCIDQ, IIDA, was hand-selected in 2013 to launch and lead the Miami office of MKDA. As executive managing director and director of design, she has grown her team to six talented professionals and has won an impressive number of assignments that have garnered a high level of respect.
Her work includes repositioning assignments for Banyan Street Capital and Crocker Partners comprising lobby and façade design as well as prebuilt and marketing suites at Douglas Entrance, La Puerta del Sol and Brickell City Tower in Miami and Peachtree Center in Atlanta. She is also helping to reposition a high-profile retail building in Miami’s Design District on behalf of Century 21.
Amanda’s experience includes award-winning projects, international projects in Asian emerging markets and the Caribbean, and assignments that have included design, branding, management and construction administration in the public and private sectors.
Her work spans the workplace to retail stores and showrooms, residences, hospitality and education. Recent clients have included AMC Networks, Oggetti Designs, numerous residences and ongoing architectural master planning assignments for Broward College.
She is committed to being on the leading edge of design trends and the use of advanced technology, such as Building Information Modeling (BIM), but it is her design vision—designing for the desired behavior of a space as well as functionality—that serves her clients well.
In addition, Amanda utilizes her marketing background to hone in on her clients’ strategic marketing positions to create branded environments alongside marketing collateral such as logos and website. This unique integrated service provides clients with a complete, cohesive visual representation of their brands.
Amanda earned her Masters in Interior Design at New York’s prestigious Pratt Institute School of Art and Design after studying design and architecture in Paris, France at the Université de Sorbonne. She has worked for large, world-renowned architecture firms and was an owner of her own successful design studio before joining MKDA.
As an adjunct professor at Miami International University of Art & Design, Amanda has taught coursework over the past eight years that includes a variety of creative design studio and technology classes.
She is also Committee Chair of UCREW, a subcommittee of CREW (Commercial Real Estate Women), a group that holds University programs to foster interest in commercial real estate and related fields as career choices.
