Atilla Kara, Assoc. AIA, is a technical architect in MKDA’s Washington DC studio, where he reviews drawings for quality assurance and code compliance and provides technical support for projects across the region. He has over 17 years of design and architectural experience across a range of industries, including federal, commercial, educational and mixed-use buildings.
With previous experience at Gensler and Stantec, Atilla has provided superior architectural and design leadership, overseeing projects from their inception through their completion. Over his career, he earned two Gensler “Star Margo Awards” for design excellence on Digital Domain and Royal Carribean Cruise Line studio projects. In addition, he received an Award of Excellence and an Award of Merit, from the Northern Virginia chapters of NAIOP and AIA respectively, for his outstanding work on Marymount University’s Ballston Center.
Atilla is an Associate AIA member and leverages his technical knowledge and professional expertise to add value to his assignments. He graduated from University of Kansas with a Bachelor of Architecture.
