Position Preview: This is a unique opportunity to participate in the development of architectural projects from concept to completion, and learn all aspects of the process along the way. You will work closely with the Director of Architecture to develop design ideas and creatively problem solve, as well as provide strong technical support and interface with clients regularly. Our architecture group is a boutique studio where all ideas are welcome, and no one is exempt from pursuing their own personal and professional.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Works with/within the design team from concept to completion on multiple projects of various budgets and scales simultaneously
  • Creates construction documentation for various architectural projects alongside the design team
  • Reviews construction documents and shop drawings for design compliance
  • Participate in the planning of projects from budgeting to design intent
  • Responsible for the coordination of project efforts both administrative and technical to assure the most efficient and cost-effective execution of assigned projects occurs
  • Act as client liaison to bring the schedule, budget and scope of work to completion
  • Ensures projects stay within design parameters and on deadline
  • Manage client relationships and team communication
  • Resolve complex technical and design issues
  • Conduct on-site observations and document site reviews
  • Process submittals, RFIs, substitution requests, etc. during construction
  • Interface with building and permitting officials during the permitting and construction phases of the project
  • Mentor and grow junior staff members

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture
  • Expertise in hospitality, multi-family or mixed-use design projects
  • 6+ years of technical architectural design experience
  • 6+ years of REVIT experience with full construction documentation experience
  • Licensure or LEED preferred but not required
  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication and relationship-management skills
  • Proven record of managing projects during construction
  • Experience and ability to coordinate with various consultants
  • Interacts well with other disciplines and clients in a manner that builds productive relationships

Our Washington, DC studio (>) is seeking a creative and technically strong Senior Design Lead with 15 years experience. A dynamic and fast-paced position, the candidate must manage a variety of assignments from multiple sources, have leadership experience, thrive under deadlines, take initiative and self-manage to prioritize tasks.Salary commensurate with education, professional experience and demonstrated knowledge.   • Exhibits understanding of the firm’s human-centric design philosophy.
  • Project leadership on interior design, including lead of in house team, project consultants and client.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills with relation to client interaction.
  • Responsible for all phases of the design process, including programming, schematic, design development, construction documents and construction administration
  • Coordinate with outside consultants and vendors.
  • Have a good understanding of interior finishes, materials, furniture, lighting, fixtures, and FF&E schedules and budgets.
  • Proficiency in millwork detailing and specifications and reviewing shop drawings.

  • Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, PowerPoint and Google Workspace
  • Basic knowledge of current building codes including ADA requirements.
  • Ability to work well with colleagues, clients, vendors and construction managers.
  • Excellent presentation skills and strong communicator with the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Possesses strong organizational and problem solving skills, prioritizes and handles multiple deadlines with grace
