MKDA designed the headquarters for Black Diamond Capital Management at 2187 Atlantic Street, transforming the building’s penthouse level into an elegant, enduring environment that embodies the firm’s lasting strength and presence. MKDA’s work encompassed a complete interior build-out of the executive-level workplace, as well as exterior façade enhancements and the addition of a private rooftop terrace overlooking Stamford Harbor.

The reception area establishes a striking first impression with its sculptural stair, custom metal wall panels, and bold pops of color—most notably a grouping of vibrant yellow lounge chairs beneath a suspended shark sculpture. These artistic gestures bring energy and individuality to the space, complementing the natural warmth of the oak flooring and rich stone finishes that run throughout. Private offices line the perimeter to capture sweeping harbor views, while open work areas and meeting rooms foster collaboration at the core. The 10th floor boardroom opens directly onto the landscaped rooftop terrace, where bar and lounge seating create an elevated environment for entertaining and informal gatherings.
