“MKDA helped us understand the evolving nature of the modern law firm office. The firm’s view on workplace trends and resimercial design added significant value to the conversation about the future of our office and how we could use design to drive behaviors and employee wellbeing within the work environment.” – Stuart Ratzan, Partner.
Ratzan Weissman and Boldt’s new 4,865 square foot office is uniquely nestled among the treetops in the Coconut Grove neighborhood of Miami, establishing a natural setting. This delicate organic envelope contrasts with strong, linear architectural forms to create a rigid contrast between interior and exterior. To further enhance this dichotomy, we utilized linear patterns that rotate ninety degrees, pushing and pulling to create a sense of tension.
A stark black and white color palette is juxtaposed with warm oak hardwood floors that reference the office’s treehouse setting, while deep red and rose gold add sophistication. A custom light fixture drips from a black mirrored ceiling in the main conference room to create high drama, while indirect ambient lighting and deep banquette seating establish a comfortable and inviting environment.
