Raising the Bar for Wiggin & Dana

MKDA Stamford partnered with repeat client Wiggin and Dana to revitalize its New Haven office, delivering a sophisticated renovation that offers a contemporary take on traditional design. The refreshed environment reflects a broader industry shift toward hospitality-inspired design and introduces a more flexible, collaborative setting tailored to the evolving needs of today’s legal professionals.

The design centers on light wood tones and clean architectural lines, elevated by subtle material contrasts—such as warm millwork and rich blue accents—that add depth while maintaining a calm, professional tone. A reimagined interconnecting stair seamlessly links the 19th and 20th floors, enhancing vertical connectivity. Adjacent to the stair on the lower level, a spacious multipurpose hub features an informal lounge, hospitality-style pantry, and flexible training area outfitted with modular furniture for maximum adaptability. The upper level includes a large conference and training room, while interior and perimeter offices throughout support heads-down work. Together, these spaces strike a balance between focus and interaction, offering a workplace that is both functional and future-ready.
