This philanthropy client requested an update to its existing conference center to promote greater flexibility and accommodate more modern work styles. The space also needed to become more functional and comfortable for its significant number of guests. The MKDA team thus transformed the area into an agile, communal environment with multiple coffee bars and lounges, private and open meeting rooms, and a large boardroom, which can be converted into a multipurpose space
The team devised a concept centered on biophilia with a refined treehouse theme to establish a warm, inviting atmosphere. The space incorporates wood and custom millwork to mimic a park setting, using wood slats from floor to ceiling across the coffee bars and corridors. Similarly, the various wooden nooks and breakout areas encourage spontaneous collaboration and socialization for both employees and guests.
